MWH Constructors' Construction Management Services (CMS) group is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Construction Inspector to support water infrastructure projects in California. This position will be based in Ventura, CA projects in the surrounding area. As Construction Inspector, the candidate will be responsible for conducting and documenting inspections during the construction of projects including pipelines, pumping plants, power plants, dams, levees, bridges, roads, and aqueducts.

Essential Functions

  • Representing the project owner in the field, provide single-point field inspection of Contractor’s work.
  • On a daily basis, monitor and record contractor's methods, procedures, and processes for compliance with the contract and prepare a comprehensive Daily Inspection Report with measurement of daily installed quantities and resources utilized.
  • Inspect the work for completeness and conformance with the plans, specifications, and applicable regulations and ordinances.
  • Assist the construction manager with the development of as-built drawings.
  • Document compliance and non-compliance of completed work with established quality control and quality assurance processes and procedures.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of inspection experience in the construction of water infrastructure projects.
  • ICC/ICBO Certifications in Reinforced Concrete, Welding, Masonry Inspection are very desirable.
  • Thorough understanding of construction safety, quality control, and general contract management requirements necessary.
  • Equivalent combination of related experience and technical training may be substituted.
  • Valid California Driver’s License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.

Compensation
