Job description

Job Summary:
SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Computer Engineer IV to assist with the development and management of Government labs and DoD systems. The role involves designing architecture, administering server-based systems, and solving technical problems to ensure the security and sustainability of computer systems.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Design architecture, installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of server and systems configurations (hardware and software) to ensure their confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
โ€ข In addition to design and development duties, computer hardware engineers supervise the manufacturing and installation of computers and computer-related equipment.
โ€ข Administer server-based systems, security devices, distributed applications, network storage, messaging, and performs systems monitoring.
โ€ข Potential to consult on network, and application issues to support computer systemsโ€™ security and sustainability.
โ€ข Successful completion of training in Windows Administration will be required within the first 6 months of hire.
โ€ข Apply the principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to the design, development, testing, and evaluation of the software and systems that enable computers to perform their many applications.
โ€ข Solve technical problems that arise.
โ€ข Involved in the design and development of many types of software, including software for operating systems and network distribution, and compilers, which convert programs for execution on a computer.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in a technical field including but not limited to Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
โ€ข Minimum of 6 years of related work experience, preferably in IT Architecture and Design
โ€ข A current Windows Administration certification
โ€ข Experience with DoD Cybersecurity, System Engineering, and/or Test & Evaluation processes
โ€ข Understanding of the application of policy, process, and technical controls
โ€ข Familiarity with System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), System Engineering process, Risk Management Framework (RMF) Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) processes and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800 series of special publications and other applicable DoD requirements
โ€ข Experience with the implementation of security controls, STIG application, and scanning on current Linux and/or Windows versions
โ€ข Candidates must meet baseline eligibility for Cyber Security Workforce (CSWF) at the DoD 8570-M Information Assurance Manager, Level I (IAT-I) and/or DoD 8140 Intermediate/Journeyman in Specialty Area 451
โ€ข Must possess strong programming skills but are more concerned with developing algorithms and analyzing and solving programming problems than with actually writing code
โ€ข The programming languages most often used are C, C++, and Java, with Fortran and COBOL used less commonly
โ€ข U.S. Citizenship
โ€ข Secret clearance
Preferred:
โ€ข Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical field including but not limited to Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering
โ€ข A current Windows Administration certification
โ€ข Experience with DoD Cybersecurity, System Engineering, and/or Test & Evaluation processes
