Job description

Marathon TS is seeking a Sr. Java Developer to work 100% remote in support of a DOD program. Summary: ยท The Computer Programmer shall contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle in support of commercial and Federal health care customers.

Duties and Responsibilities: ยท Responsibilities include application of third and fourth generation programming languages, experience with object-oriented programming, ability to develop complex software to satisfy design objectives, and experience developing software for data base management systems. ยท General experience includes knowledge of Internet working, client/server environments, and demonstrated experience supervising software development projects. ยท Must have strong development architecture experience.

ยท Design, develop and document overall system requirements, supporting software system design and architecture. ยท Develop innovative solutions that meet organizational needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules, and alignment to development goals and principles. ยท Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and rollout system changes.

ยท Create infrastructure and apply test cases, and apply automation geared towards ensuring quality. ยท Write well designed, testable, efficient code. ยท Lead product initiatives, mentor and guide junior team members, and recommend improvements.

ยท Develop industry and product technical expertise. ยท Share release management duties n feature rollouts. ยท Identify and assist with problem solving of stability and scalability issues in a time critical environment.

ยท Identify project risks and work efficiently to mitigate them. ยท Evaluates existing applications to determine technical changes, schedules projects, resources, and monitors project timelines. ยท Works with a team of analysts or developers responsible for the organization's applications development and analysis function.

ยท Focus on infrastructure updates and integration and participate in application updates, gap analysis, data migration planning and validation. ยท Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.) ยท Bachelor's degree required. ยท 6 years of related work experience.

ยท Ability to complete initial phone screening prior to interview scheduling. ยท Must have current or recent (within past 2 years) DoD NACLC or higher successful investigation. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: ยท Knowledge of health care information systems and Federal health care systems is required.

ยท Experience must include the following: Java, J2EE, SOA services, Spring, Object Oriented Concepts, Data Structures, Apache, Tomcat, REST Services, Web technologies and internet protocols. ยท Database driven application development such as Oracle, SQL, or schema design; HTML, AJAX, SOA: SOAP/RESTful Services. ยท Knowledge of web services and SOA related standards that include REST/OAuth/JSON.

ยท Knowledge of Windows and UNIX development environment, source code management such as Git and bug tracking. ยท Java application debugging and DB performance issues; IBM WebSphere or other J2EE application servers. ยท Must have an excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and software design.

ยท Possess expertise in object-oriented design methodology and large-scale application development in Java. ยท Working knowledge of all aspects of SDLC including requirement/design reviews as well as code reviews. ยท Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize.

ยท Ability to manage multiple tasks with time related constraints in a fast-paced environment. ยท Possess excellent written and oral communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills. ยท Possess strong problem-solving skills.

ยท Ability to self-start and work independently or as a team. ยท Ability to work Pacific time, nights, and weekends as requested. ยท Ability to travel up to 10% to Sacramento, CA as requested.
