Job description

The Office of the Bullitt County Attorney is seeking justice-motivated individuals who want to make a difference in Bullitt County.  The primary duty of this position is Bullitt Family Court, Division 3, but this position also assists in both the criminal and civil divisions of the office.

Compensation:

$70,000 - $90,000


Responsibilities:

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Prosecution of dependency/neglect/abuse cases in Bullitt Family Court;
  • Interview officers, victims, witnesses for case preparation;
  • Review officer and citizen complaints for potential criminal charges;
  • Assist with the completion of Mental Inquest Warrants
  • Ability to evaluate evidence and negotiate reasonable disposition of cases;
  • Review and remain informed of relevant statutory and case law;
  • Conduct motion practice;
  • Conduct hearings, including temporary removal hearings and adjudication of dependency/neglect/abuse petitions;
  • Answer after-hours calls from officers on a rotating schedule;
  • Complete legal research and draft memos at the direction of the County Attorney
  • Assist with other areas of the Office as needed;
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the First Assistant or County Attorney.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Law Degree from an ABA-accredited law school;
  • Member of Kentucky Bar Association;
  • No experience needed, will train
