Job description

Varsity Boys Basketball Assistant Coach - Ida Crown Jewish Academy

Ida Crown is currently seeking a Varsity Boys Basketball Assistant Coach for the upcoming 2026-27 season with a pathway towards becoming the Associate Head Coach.

The Aces of Ida Crown are currently led by two-time Chicago Prep Conference Coach of the Year, Jonathan Rich, and have won two consecutive IHSA Regional Championships.

The Varsity Boys Assistant Coach should be well versed in modern basketball concepts, including offensive spacing, man and zone defensive tactics, and be knowledgeable of current best practices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the Head Coach in developing the skills and character of the student-athletes while possessing a high level of communication and leadership

  • Assist in overseeing player development, helping plan scouting reports on opponents, and establishing game strategies

  • Collaborate with the Head Coach to design well-organized and competitive practice plans that evolve throughout the season

  • Reinforce fundamental basketball skills and help implement the offensive and defensive systems put in place by the Head Coach
