A Day on the Job Summary:

The Golf Shop Assistant is responsible for delivering an exceptional Member and guest experience while supporting the daily operations of the Golf Shop. This role includes retail sales, tee time coordination, merchandising, and providing knowledgeable service about golf products, club services, and course offerings.


We are open to hiring for either a seasonal role (peak season typically March/April through October/November) or year-round part-time position with the understanding that hours may reach full-time or overtime-eligible levels during our peak season from March through December and may be shortened during the off-season (January through March) for either role.


Essential Job Duties:

  • Greet Members and guests in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner
  • Manage tee time reservations using the club’s booking system
  • Process retail sales, returns, and special orders accurately through the Point-of-Sale (POS) system
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing golf shop through effective merchandising
  • Provide product knowledge and assist customers with apparel, equipment, and accessories
  • Handle phone inquiries regarding tee times, merchandise, and club events
  • Support tournament operations, specifically with registration for events
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with receiving, tagging, and restocking merchandise
  • Uphold the club’s standards of service, appearance, and professionalism
Requirements:

Minimum Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous retail or customer service experience, preferred
  • Pursing a fashion merchandising or business-related field is a plus
  • Knowledge of golf and golf equipment, preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Working Conditions:

  • Standing for prolonged periods of time
  • Bending, Stooping and lifting regularly
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, on occasion
