Red Clay is currently seeking a School Social Worker.
SUMMARY: 

Full time position on the school's student services team. The school social worker will lead/support social, emotional, and behavioral needs through the MTSS continuum (tiers) of services and/or the rotation of Unified Arts. The school social worker will help connect families with community resources, will serve as a Restorative Practice Champion and will lead our Tier 1 Schoolwide Incentives/Events.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist all students in the areas of academic achievement and social/emotional development.
  • Provide pull-out support to students in the area of social/emotional growth.
  • Assist and teach students how to manage emotions and apply interpersonal skills.
  • Provide development to staff on supporting students with emotional/social needs.
  • Assist in creation, development, and implementation of intervention plans.
  • Provide short-term and small group counseling to students.
  • Coordinate with community resources, community members and student services team.
  • Consult with Counselor and Psychologist regarding IEP and 504 Plan support.
  • Provide longer-term counseling support and progress monitoring.
  • Assist with Parent/Family Engagement.
  • Utilize the SSWAA National Practice Model and incorporate CASEL 5 SEL Standards into daily practice
  • Specialize in coordination with state and outside agencies such as DFS, PBH, and Crisis to provide additional support for students and their families
  • Refer students for long-term support when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with families/teachers/administrators/community for student success.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify student issues, needs and challenges within the school.
  • Participate in school and district committees and initiatives, including Restorative Practice Lead Team, to provide system support.
  • Assist with crisis management.
  • Attend district mental health clinician meetings.
  • Be a team player, an excellent communicator, and have a willingness to work strategically with parents of all students.
  • Other responsibilities as determined by building administration.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of two years working as a school social worker
  • Ability to establish positive and meaningful relationships with all members of the school community as well as outside service providers
  • Experience working with students transitioning back to the school building after an outside agency placement


CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in mental health counseling
  • MSW, LCSW, LPCMH, or similar
  • School Social Worker licensure (preferred)
