Job description

Camp Christopher, a program of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland, is seeking enthusiastic individuals to assist with daily summer camp programming. Camp counselors will work with campers, parents, and staff to lead activities, oversee health and safety of participants and perform routine tasks such as daily upkeep of camp.

Dates needed June through August.

We understand that children require more than solely academic skills to flourish - children need well-rounded experiences to help them grow into successful, resilient adults.  Summer camp, by design, allows children to develop their creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills.  As camp staff, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on those around you.

Responsibilities : 

  • Attend to all personal care and safety needs of campers
  • Follow the activity schedule and assist camp departments as needed
  • Facilitate and monitor activities including but not limited:
    • Camp Counselor for Age Group
    • Boating/Swimming
    • Challenge Course
    • Athletic Games/Sports
    • Archery
    • Hiking
    • Fishing
    • Horseback Riding
    • Crafts
    • Kitchen
    • Cleaning/Utilities
    • Maintenance
  • Follow all applicable regulations and standards to ensure camper & staff safety
  • Communicate with campers, parents, staff and camp administration
  • Other duties as assigned by the program coordinator/camp management
