Job description

THE ROLE
The Assistant General Manager is the one who keeps Bud's Goods & Provisions running smoothly, day in & day out. You're a strong blend of technical, operational & people skills - someone the team can count on for a clear answer, a level head & a fair call. You'll own staff leadership, regulatory compliance, scheduling & payroll support, inventory management & financial oversight, all while keeping customer service sharp.
Day to day, that means coaching Sales Associates, keeping the dispensary compliant with Cannabis Control Commission regulations, managing cash & inventory with a careful eye, & stepping in to solve whatever comes up - technical, operational or otherwise. This role runs on a flexible schedule; you're ready to work whatever shift the store needs, including opening & closing as the acting manager on duty.
You'll work closely with the General Manager, the Inventory Specialist & the Security Specialist to keep the store safe, stocked & running honestly. That covers everything from METRC & Dutchie entries to CCTV monitoring to reporting - whatever it takes to keep Bud's Goods operating efficiently & compliantly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
LEADERSHIP & FLOOR MANAGEMENT
  • Provide steady, consistent leadership for retail employees across every shift
  • Serve as the acting Manager on Duty, opening & closing the store as needed
  • Help the Retail General Manager with scheduling & payroll - including editing timecards & applying PTO or Sick Time in Paragon iSolved
  • Keep staff current on Standard Operating Procedures & training updates, as directed by the Retail General Manager
  • Coach staff to improve & grow, & help onboard new hires

RETAIL OPERATIONS
  • Bring the Company's mission for guest experience & hospitality to life every shift
  • Help troubleshoot point-of-sale software & equipment; open tech support tickets & flag anything that can't be resolved to retail management
  • Provide reports as requested by company managers & officers
  • Know your way around Microsoft applications, especially Excel, for daily tracking of employees & cannabis/cash/debit transactions
  • Join regular meetings & occasional offsite training activities

INVENTORY & COMPLIANCE
  • Keep the dispensary compliant with Cannabis Control Commission regulations & guidelines, at all times
  • Team up with the Inventory Specialist to keep menus current & inventory fully compliant, including the Bud's Goods online menu
  • Help receive cannabis deliveries alongside the inventory team when extra hands are needed - including intake, digital receipt in METRC & Dutchie, & entering testing data
  • Help order & receive non-cannabis inventory, working with management to restock in a timely way
  • Prevent theft & diversion of all cannabis & cannabis-related products
  • Make sure no minors enter the premises
  • Make sure no cannabis is consumed on the premises, by guests or employees

CASH HANDLING & SECURITY
  • Help manage cash & debit deposits, & keep audit & deposit logs up to date
  • Help investigate cash & debit discrepancies
  • Stay trained on our CCTV programs & keep access to the retail camera feed
  • Team up with the Security Specialist to keep guest flow moving smoothly
  • Help maintain the safety & security of the entire premises
  • Flag any issues or concerns with security systems or individuals on property to the Security Specialist or Retail General Manager
