About the Role:
The Metal Fabrication & Assembly Technician position is critical to ensuring the efficient handling, processing, and preparation of steel materials within a manufacturing warehouse environment. This role focuses on fabricating, assembling, and maintaining metal components that meet precise specifications and quality standards. The successful candidate will contribute to the production workflow by operating machinery, performing quality inspections, and collaborating with team members to meet production targets. Attention to safety protocols and adherence to industry regulations are paramount to maintain a secure and productive workplace. Ultimately, this role supports the overall manufacturing process by delivering high-quality metal products that align with company and client requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in metalworking or steel manufacturing environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Familiarity with metal fabrication tools and machinery.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety standards and practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in welding or metal fabrication.
- Experience with inventory management systems.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to manufacturing and warehouse operations.
- Previous experience working in a steel manufacturing warehouse setting.
- Basic computer skills for reporting and inventory tracking.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain metalworking machinery such as shears, presses, and welding equipment to fabricate steel components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate production of metal parts.
- Inspect finished products for quality and compliance with safety and manufacturing standards.
- Manage inventory of raw materials and finished goods within the warehouse to support continuous production flow.
- Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize manufacturing processes.
- Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Assist in loading and unloading steel materials and products, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
