Job Description
About the Role
The Retail Merchandising Coordinator executes in-store merchandising standards, manages inventory flow from backroom to sales floor, and maintains appealing product displays to maximize sales. They often train staff, maintain brand signage, and analyze sales data to optimize sales. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a flexible schedule.
The role requires a blend of physical stamina and sharp attention to detail to minimize errors in a fast-paced setting.
S/he/they will demonstrate a background of working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, geographic, and socioeconomic backgrounds, using a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible approach.
Essential Duties
  • Continuously supports the Retail Merchandisers in their effort to create engaging and profitable displays.
  • Maintains working knowledge of on-hand inventory, merchandise sell through and inventory locations.
  • Creates daily restock reports for replenishing stock on the sales floor.
  • Stock Organization: Manages, rotates, and organizes back stock for efficient replenishment. Conducts cycle counts when necessary.
  • Maintains merchandising, signage, and display standards to ensure an appealing, organized, and clean sales floor.
  • Communicates priorities and works in tandem with the Retail Merchandising Assistant on merchandise replenishment and organization.
  • Supports and trains sales associates on merchandising principles, provides feedback, and coordinates with management.
  • Supports inventory shrinkage reduction goals and maintains a safe, compliant environment.
  • Works closely with the Retail Warehouse Coordinator on incoming deliveries, inventory placement, and merchandise flow to the sales locations.
  • May undertake additional responsibilities to support the merchandising operations as required.

Candidate Requirements and Experience
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on organization and visual accuracy.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment with shifting priorities.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills are needed to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
  • Technical Proficiency: Basic computer skills for data entry; familiarity with Microsoft Office (especially Outlook and Excel, and preferably Teams)
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift 40 pounds and be on your feet for long periods, with continuous bending and lifting of merchandise.
  • Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM, with occasional early mornings/late evenings, weekends, and holidays required.

Preferred:
  • Retail or related experience, with 6 months merchandise handling experience preferred.

Working Conditions
  • Merchandising Coordinators work closely with store managers, merchandising and sales teams. They are frequently seen in both the retail space and stockrooms.
