Job description

The Assistant Group Home Manager is responsible for the direct care and daily operations of the group home as well as the implementation of programs and scheduling of employees in the home. This position requires the applicant to have experience working with Traumatic Brain Injuries.

Client Supervision and Care

  • Review weekly client progress notes and submit them to manager for final approval.
  • Maintain a file of all client scripts and perform clerical duties that include: photocopying, scanning, and faxing.
  • Processes new scripts and follows through with delivery, documenting on MAR.
  • Monitors vital sign and blood sugar flow sheets.
  • Reviews Bi-weekly payroll for employees against the schedule and maintains documentation on the server.
  • Greet visitors to the organization in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Provide assistance and support to management and other staff.
  • Reinforcement of staff effectiveness regarding tardiness, documentation, and following behavioral programs, activity schedules, and job descriptions.
  • Document clients' behaviors and incidents in daily progress notes according to documentation policies.
  • Facilitate and oversee clients' goals developed by the clinical program director and treatment team.
  • Accurately and objectively record client behavior, responses, needs, issues and plans in the daily progress notes/charts.
  • Accurately dispense and record client medication administration at prescribed times. Medications should be checked at the beginning and end of each shift. Clients are to be observed swallowing medications and each medication given is to be documented in accordance with Dignitas, Inc. medication administration policies, including signature on each medication sheet.
  • Transport clients via company or personal vehicle, or accompany with transportation vendor of choice to activities as planned and lead client-related activities as scheduled.
  • Assist or provide guidance with activity of daily living skills as necessary per treatment plan, documenting any changes in abilities or physical status.
  • Monitor status of clients' medical equipment and personal belongings, communicating any repair needs and safety concerns.
  • Provide required documentation regarding clients for billing at the end of every month to the administrative team i.e. LOA's, staffing changes, and monthly progress notes (if required).
  • Train new hires on client programming, home operations, and conduct/maintain fire drills and log.
  • Maintain client files according to licensing regulations ensuring that information is accurate and there is follow-through for incomplete items.

Household/Vehicles

  • Report all house/vehicle repair needs to the house manager.
  • Document mileage records of client or Dignitas transportation on personal vehicle(s) for each trip.
  • Make sure the fuel level is above tank. If below, refuel gas tank to full at designated station.
  • Complete household maintenance activities as scheduled on each day worked. Review house duty logs for all shifts to ensure household duties are completed daily.
  • Conduct daily walk-through of the home ensuring that the home is clean and in good repair.
  • Conduct client room inspections when required while maintaining house petty cash, grocery and client funds as appropriate.

Meetings

  • Create agenda items and meet with staff bi-weekly for staff meetings and submit to manager for final approval.
  • Attends training classes as scheduled.

General Duties

  • Follow all policies and procedures of Dignitas, Inc.
  • Read the state laws manual.
  • Read daily memos (staff log) and follow all requests.
  • Print completed MAR's in book.
  • Audit files quarterly

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of group home management experience
  • Expertise in Traumatic Brain Injuries or Spinal Cord Injuries a plus
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask, address complaints, and resolve problems
  • Valid driver's license, good driving record, and proof of vehicle insurance
  • CPR and First Aid certification
