Job description

Department Information The University of Northern Colorado is located in Greeley, Colorado, population over 100,000, an hour's drive north of Denver, and within driving distance of the Rocky Mountains. UNC has an enrollment of over 12,000 students who attend classes on the 250-acre campus, and is large enough to provide true University opportunities, and small enough to treat students and employees as individuals. Job Summary: Supply high temperature hot water 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. For the purpose of domestic hot water, heat and air conditioning for all UNC classrooms, offices and dormitory buildings. Monitor all functions of the UNC heat plant, so as to supply a continuous supply of high temperature hot water to all UNC buildings.

Maintain and operate high temperature hot water boilers and associated equipment. Assist HVAC shop as needed. Job Responsibilities: Monitor/Inspection - 50% Visually inspect, monitor and record readings of boiler, pumps and air compressors temperature and pressure, compression tanks pressure, and outside air temperature on an hourly basis.

Water Chemical Analysis/Treatment - 10% Water chemical analysis and treatment for boilers, city water, system water, colling towers water and water softeners. Adjust treatment program to maintain proper chemical balance. Maintain Environment - 20% Maintain clean environment for proper function and operation of equipment and computers.

Preventative Maintenance - 20% Perform preventative maintenance on a daily, monthly and annual basis depending on function and use. Valid Drivers' License required.
