We are hiring for an Engineer Field Service - Junior position at Huntsville, Alabama with an active Secret clearance. V2X is seeking an Engineer to join our Test and Training Team in support of the Integrated Base Defense - Sustainment Support II (IBD-SS II) contract with operations located at Redstone Arsenal, AL. V2X transforms operations and sustainment for government and commercial clients worldwide through operational support services, training, and converged environments that integrate physical and digital infrastructures. We are looking for motivated self-starters who will perform maintenance, training, and work closely with military customers. This position desires an individual who has experience performing mechanical, electronics, and IT Networking tasks as well as skills performing installs, de-installs, testing systems and components, and performing Preventive Maintenance actions on a variety of systems belonging to the Elevated Sensors family of systems to include BETSS-C, Cerberus, RDISS, Radar, PTP radio, television and other communications & surveillance equipment components. A strong background in IT networks and Network Security is also desired. Candidates should be able to operate at scale, in an ambiguous environment, and adapt to the customer's dynamic requirements. The role will work collaboratively with cross-functional team members to deliver solutions to our customers. The position interfaces with cross-functional teams within engineering, testing, production, logistics, maintenance, and sustainment. Responsibilities Primary Duties: * Required to distinguish between hardware and software problems in multi-vendor systems. * Perform installation, test, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair for RF communications equipment, electronics equipment, servers, switches, and routers. Small form factor computers and computer interfaces, both IR and Standard optic security cameras, radars, both personnel and vehicle scanners. * Collaborate with design engineers to troubleshoot failures and issues derived from test data. * Perform sustainment and preventative, electrical and mechanical maintenance on mobile trailer mounted masts and associated payloads. * Assists with performing site surveys to determine type and placement of systems. * Perform Installs and de-installs of systems and their components. * Perform software updates as required. * Assist in technical writing efforts for Field Bulletins, SOP's, and Tech Manual revisions. * Tracks and updates work orders to include the replacement of parts, and serial numbers. * Skilled using hand tools, power tools, and electronics test equipment. * Assist Test Engineering Team with establishing test criteria. * Perform other related tasks as required. * May on occasion travel to other CONUS or OCONUS locations to assist in unit training and site survey development for IBD-SS. Qualifications Education Requirements: AA/AS with 3-5 years of experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of the degree. 6 total years of applicable experience in lieu of a degree. Required Qualifications/Skills: * Knowledge and skills in fault analysis, troubleshooting, repair, configuration, and alignment of, radars, power supplies, Command, Control, Computer, Communication, and Intelligence (C4I) systems, PTP RF Transmitters. * Understanding of communication protocols and interfaces. * Ability to construct, test, and troubleshoot from engineering drawings cables and transmission lines of various configurations. i.e., COAX, Ethernet, Fiber Optic and Serial Data transmission lines. * Understanding and comprehension of engineering processes and workflows. * Read and interpret planning documents, schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, drawings, and manuals. * Ability to translate engineering drawings and schematics and apply to troubleshooting and test efforts. * Ability to extract and analyze data and generate/produce reports based on findings. * Interact with all stakeholders and professionally exhibit customer service skills and be able to present a positive approach with customers and peers. * Ability to perform minor mechanical maintenance on generators and mobile trailer mounted masts. * Superior Technical writing skills. * Experience testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying test and production electrical and electronic units, assemblies, components, parts, equipment, and systems. Clearance Requirement: Active Secret clearance required Desired Qualifications/Skills: * Relevant and recent experience supporting DoD Force Protection systems including mobile communications and modular expeditionary systems. * Experience with sensor systems. * Experience with Quick Reaction Capability systems portfolio, to include RDISS, IBD-K, PSSG, BETSS-C, CVBIED Perimeter Security and ground sensors or equivalent systems. * Ability to train operators in the use and maintenance of systems. * Technical Experience with FLIR and Rapiscan product lines. * Experience utilizing COLTS (or similar such as RCLS) and operating within the GCSS-A environment. * Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel. * Import/Export (ITAR/EXIM) compliance experience. * Experience in a rapid paced, time sensitive, high-quality environment. * Strong written and verbal communication skills along with strong customer service. * Ability to multi-task, prioritize commitments, and manage time effectively including attention-to-detail.
