Job Title: Faculty, Infectious Diseases (Assistant Professor)

Summary
The Section of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a clinician-educator or clinician-researcher faculty member with a focus on transplant infectious diseases to join our academic practice at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level. The faculty member will provide both inpatient and outpatient clinical care in infectious diseases, especially for solid organ recipients. The transplant infectious diseases faculty are also responsible for developing and refining transplant protocols for the transplant program from the infectious diseases perspective and working with other transplant team members to meet CMS and UNOS benchmarks. The position includes engaging in scholarly activities and participating in the education mission by supervising and training medical students, residents, and fellows. Applicants with leadership or substantial clinical experience will have the opportunity to take a leadership role in the transplant infectious diseases program. Incoming academic rank will be based on previous academic and clinical experience.
Applicants must be board certified or board eligible in adult Infectious Diseases and possess or be eligible for a Texas Medical License. Applicants who have completed a transplant infectious diseases training program or who have at least 3 years relevant experience are preferred. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without need for visa sponsorship.

Job Duties
  1. Provide direct patient consultant care and outpatient care for pre- and post-transplant patients.
  2. Develop and refine transplant protocols for the transplant program from the infectious diseases perspective.
  3. Work with other transplant team members and as a team to meet CMS and UNOS benchmarks.
  4. Applicants interested in a leadership role will provide infectious diseases clinical leadership for the transplant program at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center including quality improvement activities and advancing the multidisciplinary transplant program.
  5. Engage in scholarly products to include on average at least 2 publications per year.
  6. Participate in the education mission by supervising and training medical students, residents, clinical and research fellows, and other trainees.

Minimum Qualifications
  1. MD or equivalent
  2. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Infectious Diseases
  3. Completion of a transplant infectious diseases training program or at least 3 years relevant experience
  4. Authorized to work in the US without need for Visa sponsorship
