We are seeking a motivated, dependable, and faith-driven Assistant Boys' Basketball Coach to support our high school basketball program. The ideal candidate will assist in developing players’ basketball skills, character, discipline, and teamwork while helping create a Christ-centered team culture.


Mount Juliet Christian Academy is a ministry of First Baptist Church Mount Juliet, and all MJCA employees affirm and agree to uphold the doctrines outlined in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, as well as the beliefs and teachings of FBCMJ.

 Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated, dependable, and faith-driven Assistant Boys' Basketball Coach to support our high school basketball program. The ideal candidate will assist in developing players’ basketball skills, character, discipline, and teamwork while helping create a Christ-centered team culture.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Coach in planning and leading practices, games, and team activities
  • Teach basketball fundamentals, including shooting, ball handling, defense, rebounding, and offensive concepts
  • Help develop game plans, scouting preparation, and in-game adjustments
  • Encourage sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, and leadership among players
  • Build positive relationships with student-athletes, families, faculty, and staff
  • Supervise athletes during practices, games, travel, the locker room, and team events
  • Assist with equipment, uniforms, scheduling, and program communication
  • Model Christian values through mentorship, attitude, and leadership
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and athletic association rules
Qualifications
  • Prior basketball playing and/or coaching experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to mentor and motivate high school student-athletes
  • Commitment to supporting the school’s Christian mission and values
  • Positive role model with high character and integrity
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Background check required
Time Commitment
