Assistant Basketball Coach – Walsh Jesuit High School
Walsh Jesuit High School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Women’s Varsity Basketball Coach to support the Head Coach in all aspects of the program. This role includes helping to build a positive, inclusive, and student-centered culture aligned with the mission of Walsh Jesuit while promoting teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and personal growth. The Assistant Coach reports to the Head Coach and Athletic Director.
Responsibilities may include:
Coaching amp; Instruction
  • Assist with planning and conducting practices
  • Teach and reinforce fundamentals, skills, and techniques
  • Provide small group and individual instruction
  • Support game strategy
  • Work under the direction of the Head Coach
Student-Athlete Development
  • Build positive relationships with student-athletes
  • Reinforce team expectations, culture, and sportsmanship
Program Support
  • Assist with tryouts and athlete evaluations
  • Support eligibility tracking, equipment, and program logistics
  • Contribute to off-season training
Communication
  • Communicate regularly with the Head Coach
  • Provide feedback to athletes
  • Maintain professional interactions with parents and staff
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a varsity-level coach or significant basketball coaching experience
