JOB SUMMARY

The Audio Visual Technician is responsible to set up, operate, maintain, and repair equipment used to enhance live events, such as microphones, video recorders, camcorders, projectors, lighting, and sound mixing equipment and other technical equipment as required. They may be needed to record meetings and presentations with video cameras, operate , adjust amplifiers, coordinate graphics used in displays and provide technical support. Maintain inventories of audio and video supplies. Ensure compliance to company policies and procedures. Working with clients on a 1 on 1 basis utilizing great customer service to meet client needs. The ability to work in Lab settings with exposure to both human/veterinary cadavers or specimens.


EDUCATION, EXPERIANCE, SKILLS & ABILITES

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field (preferred).
  • Knowledge of audiovisual equipment and technology is an asset.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience working in a collaborative environment with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and prioritize tasks to meet objectives and deadlines.
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in audiovisual technology, including setup, operation, and maintenance.
  • Experience working with both Microsoft and Apple products and other related AV software.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Must be an effective communicator, with the ability to tailor presentations to meet audience needs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Keynote.

 JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES

Equipment Management and Maintenance:

  • Maintain all audio/visual equipment, ensuring equipment quality and proper storage.
  • Maintain a spreadsheet of equipment for events.
  • Keep podiums clean, stocked, and organized 
  • Maintain stock of AV disposables such as batteries, laser pointers, projector lamps, etc.
  • Contact outside vendors as necessary to rent outside equipment, following proper approval procedures.

Event Planning and Client Coordination:

  • Work directly with department managers to address specific AV needs for events.
  • Work with event planners/clients to ensure their needs are met and any special requests are recognized ahead of time.
  • Monitor the event calendar to plan out event needs in advance and ensure all necessary equipment is in-house and functioning.
  • Correspond with clients via email and phone, ensuring effective communication and business relationships.
  • Establish a main point of contact for the event when flash drives or CD/DVD recordings need to be distributed.

On-Site Event Support:

  • Greet clients upon arrival, assist with loading and setting up presentations.
  • Assist clients during the event by monitoring audio levels and microphones.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, ensuring proper connections, cable covers, and other safety procedures are followed.

Problem Solving and Process Improvement:

  • Work independently to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex issues, develop, recommend, and implement solutions.
  • Research ways to streamline operations and improve AV quality.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure awareness and compliance with standard operating procedures and safety policies.
  • Maintain general knowledge of Viticus Group's policies and procedures
