Job description

Position: Real Estate Paralegal
Location: Hybrid - Southfield, Michigan
Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Because We Invest in YOU!
At Brewtopia, it's more than coffee-it's about building the legal foundation that supports disciplined growth.
As one of the fastest-growing 7 Brew franchise groups in the country, every new stand begins with a series of legal transactions that must be executed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable laws and contractual requirements. Our Development Team relies on strong legal coordination to keep projects moving from acquisition through opening.
We're seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Paralegal with a strong real estate background, who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role will partner closely with internal leadership, outside counsel, landlords, title companies, brokers, and consultants to support commercial real estate transactions across Michigan and New York.
YOUR MISSION
Support Brewtopia's Real Estate & Construction Team by providing legal and administrative coordination for commercial real estate transactions while ensuring projects remain organized, compliant, and on schedule.
Success in this role means ensuring legal documentation, due diligence, and transaction coordination are executed accurately while supporting the rapid growth of Brewtopia's development pipeline.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate commercial real estate legal documents, including letters of intent, leases, purchase agreements, amendments, easements, deeds, closing documents, and other transaction-related materials under attorney supervision.
  • Coordinate legal aspects of new store development from site selection through closing and turnover.
  • Manage transaction timelines, critical dates, contingencies, and legal milestones to ensure projects remain on schedule.
  • Review title commitments, surveys, and due diligence materials while coordinating the resolution of title or legal issues with outside counsel.[SB1.1]
  • Coordinate with landlords, brokers, title companies, lenders, surveyors, municipalities, consultants, and outside legal counsel throughout each transaction.
  • Assist with lease administration, including tracking lease execution, renewals, amendments, notices, critical dates, and landlord obligations.
  • Organize and maintain legal files, transaction records, closing binders, and property documentation for all development projects.
  • Prepare closing checklists and coordinate document execution, funding requirements, recordings, and post-closing deliverables.
  • Monitor permitting, licensing, and legal documentation to support development schedules and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist with franchise documentation, utility agreements, access easements, reciprocal easement agreements, and other property-related legal matters.
  • Support post-closing activities, including document recording, compliance tracking, file organization, and issue resolution.
  • Develop and maintain standardized legal templates, document management procedures, and transaction tracking systems to improve efficiency across the Development Team.
  • Provide regular transaction status updates and legal reporting to Development leadership while identifying potential risks or delays.

Project Load
  • Support legal coordination for projects across Michigan and New York.

Requirements
Who You Are
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting commercial real estate transactions, preferably within a law firm, title company, commercial developer, or corporate real estate department.
  • Experience reviewing title commitments, surveys, commercial leases, purchase agreements, America Institute of Architects (AIA) contact documents, and due diligence documentation.
  • Strong understanding of commercial real estate transactions, legal documentation, and closing processes.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across legal, development, operations, and executive teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and document management systems.
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting multi-state commercial real estate transactions.
  • Experience with ground up development projects
  • Familiarity with title insurance, zoning, permitting, and development due diligence.
  • Experience working with commercial lease administration software or legal document management platforms.

What You'll Get
  • Compensation: Starting at $75,000-$85,000 annually, based on experience.
  • Performance bonus opportunity.
  • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid Time Off.
  • Professional development and career growth opportunities.
  • Collaborative, fast-paced environment supporting one of the fastest-growing 7 Brew franchise organizations.
