The Safety Auditor / Internal Evaluation Program (IEP) Evaluator supports the organization’s Safety Management System (SMS) by conducting internal safety audits, evaluations, and safety investigations.  This role is focused on hands-on evaluation and audit execution, identification of hazards and non-conformances, and supporting corrective actions to promote regulatory compliance and continuous safety improvement.  The role is based at Airshare’s Corporate Headquarters in Overland Park, KS (on-site; not remote or hybrid).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Conduct scheduled and ad hoc Internal Evaluation Program (IEP) evaluations and safety audits across operational areas
  • Perform in-briefs and out-briefs with department leadership regarding audit scope and results
  • Conduct observations, interviews, and documentation reviews to evaluate compliance with regulations and internal standards
  • Identify, document, and record audit findings, non-conformances, and safety concerns.
  • Prepare clear, accurate, and timely evaluation and audit reports
  • Assist safety leadership with safety investigations, including data collection and documentation
  • Support root cause analysis, risk assessments, and corrective action development
  • Track and monitor corrective actions to closure within safety databases
  • Maintain audit records, checklists, and safety data within electronic systems
  • Support continuous improvement and promote a positive safety culture
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualified candidates must have 2-5 years of experience in aviation safety or operational roles, and/or auditing or quality assurance.   

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Safety, or related field preferred
  • Working knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs)
  • Familiarity with Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Internal Evaluation Programs or similar audit programs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
