Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for supplying own tools.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics on Rentals, Rolfson, and BAT generators using electronic diagnostic tools, schematics, and data logging equipment to identify root causes of mechanical, electrical, and control system failures.
  • Execute engine overhauls and rebuilds, including disassembly, inspection, component replacement, reassembly, and post-rebuild testing.
  • Perform alternator rebuilds, including winding inspection, bearing replacement, AVR calibration, and insulation resistance testing.
  • Conduct comprehensive load bank testing, including multi-step load profiles, power quality analysis, and commissioning sign-off documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair automatic voltage regulators (AVR), transfer switches, control panels, and generator management systems.
  • Inspect, test, and certify generators for rental deployment, ensuring all systems meet operational and safety specifications.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on rental generators, including fuel, cooling, lubrication, and electrical systems.
  • Create and process work orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring all labor, parts, and findings are documented.
  • Document all maintenance, diagnostic findings, load bank results, and service activities in accordance with company standards.
  • Identify and source necessary parts and components through the parts team, providing accurate part numbers and specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Generator Mechanics, assisting with complex diagnostics and repairs.
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for customers and field teams regarding generator performance and repair scope.
  • Adhere to schedules established by management to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations and maintenance standards.
  • Conduct monthly inventory counts as needed and maintain accurate parts records.
  • Maintain the workshop in a clean, organized, and safety-compliant condition.
  • Immediately report and assist in correcting any unsafe conditions or behaviors.
  • On-call responsibilities as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in generator technician and repair.
  • Valid driver's license with an approvable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
