Newton County Quarry - Rogers Group Inc - Kentland, IN

Full-Time

Wages starting at $23.00/hr. Experienced candidates may be eligible to start at higher pay. Pay will be determined based on experience and skill set.

Newton County Quarry is a surface limestone mine/quarry seeking a Stockpile Truck Operator for our operation located in Kentland, IN.  The Stockpile Truck Driver will be primarily responsible for safely transporting, moving, and managing material within the quarry to support production operations.

The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to:

  • Operate haul trucks or articulated dump trucks to transport shot rock, crushed limestone, or fines from the plant or pit to designated stockpile areas.

  • Dump loads in an organized manner to build safe, stable stockpiles of different aggregate products.

  • Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.

  • Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.

  • Effective communication skills applicable to position.

  • Routine equipment/plant maintenance

  • Involved with plant improvement projects

  • Inspect and perform daily repairs and maintenance on plant

  • Inspect and maintain crushers, conveyors, screens, and other equipment

  • Operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency.

  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.

Qualifications:

  • Dedication to safe work practices.

  • Previous experience operating both rigid frame haul trucks and/or articulating haul trucks preferred.

  • Ability to perform general laborer and clean-up duties on the ground and in the plant as needed/directed.

  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

  • Mechanical aptitude/ability to diagnose and perform plant repairs as needed

  • Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours as needed.

  • Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.

  • Must be willing to work outside in a variety of conditions

  •  Pass pre-employment drug screen.
