Job description

Gas Turbine Mechanic

Location: Houston, TX 77073
Pay Rate: $21.00/hour
Duration: 12-Month Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking a Gas Turbine Mechanic to join the Industrial & Energy Technology (IET) division within the Turbomachinery & Process Solutions (TPS) business. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, testing, assembling, disassembling, and inspecting aero and rotating equipment while supporting repair and maintenance activities in a safe and quality-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, test, assemble, and disassemble gas turbine and rotating equipment.
  • Perform visual inspections and identify non-conforming components.
  • Assist with repairing and modifying equipment as required.
  • Operate hand, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools safely and effectively.
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as ID/OD micrometers, depth micrometers, calipers, and related inspection tools.
  • Read and interpret mechanical, machining, and assembly drawings.
  • Follow detailed work instructions, repair procedures, and inspection processes.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production and repair deadlines.
  • Provide technical support while adhering to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience using hand, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools.
  • Ability to accurately use precision measuring equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and assembly drawings.
  • Experience working with turbines, rotating equipment, industrial machinery, or similar mechanical systems is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
