Job description

ASI is recruiting for a Bilingual Administrative Social Worker whose role will be working with international patients and assisting the pharmacy institute to obtain patient information and support the Master Level Social Worker (MSW) in delivering patient care. This role supports the Institute of Social Work for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD.


Job Description: This position is responsible for overall referral, admissions, coordination and maintenance of the administrative functions for assessments. This individual will oversee the quality and timeliness of assessments, and the tracking and reporting accurate referral information.
This position requires considerable contact with internal and external referral sources as well as international patients. Work is performed with considerable independence and in accordance with established regulations, policies and procedures. Work is reviewed and supervised by the Program Director, to whom this individual reports.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct day to day functioning of Assessment Unit.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining efficient assessment procedure.
  • Oversee client and paper flow between Assessment Unit and programs.
  • Act as a liaison with the internal and external referral sources.
  • Know criteria for all referral sources.
  • Be proficient in assessment tools (i.e. PCPC, etc.)
  • Ensure appropriate referrals are made to programs.
  • Ensure accurate, up to date assessment records, records of referral and funding sources.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with funding, referral and regulatory agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education/Training: Bachelor's of Social Work degree from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) - accredited BSW program.
  • Must have a social work license at the BSW level from any US State or Territory.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred
