Job description

Reports To: Principal

Supervises: Lunchroom, Playground, and Students

Department: Building

Classification: Non-Certified

Work Year: 9-months

Contract Dates: School Year

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Evaluation: Principal
Salary and Benefits: Per GEA Contract


Qualifications:ย  ย  ย  High School Diploma preferred; may need CPR training
Purpose:ย  To provide for the students' safety and needs by supervising.


Essential Functions and Performance Responsibilities: (These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.)

Lunchroom Aide

  • Patrol designated areas.
  • Maintains a supervised lunch period both inside and outside. Student conduct is the direct responsibility of the supervisor.
  • Enforces good lunchroom manners. Running and misconduct shall not be tolerated.
  • Supervises playground.
  • Cleaning of lunchroom is not a primary responsibility of the supervisor but at times may be necessary.

Playground Aide

  • Patrol designated areas.
  • Supervises playground by enforcing reasonable safety practices.
  • Mediate disagreements.
  • Escort injured students to school office.
  • Enforces playground rules and performs additional duties assigned by the principal.

Comply with professional code of ethics and school policies

Attends staff meetings (as appropriate).

Performs other tasks (as appropriate).ย 

Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by an administrator.
