EcoPoint is hiring an Asset Integrity Technician who will contribute to various types of projects throughout the Bakken both in the field and in the office that range from underground utility locating, using drones, videoing Oil and Gas Facilities to desktop GIS digitization and analysis.

The ratio of time spent in the field versus the office will vary based on the seasons, with less fieldwork occurring in the winter.

Applicants must have a high level of self-motivation, be able to work independently, and have exemplary work ethic. The applicant will always be expected to represent the company in a professional and safe manner while in the field. Field work, sometimes in harsh weather conditions, includes utility line locates, operating drones, GPS mapping, GIS analysis digitization, data entry, report writing and other work as assigned.

This is a highly autonomous position that requires the ability to navigate to often remote locations (predominantly Oil and Gas related) to use electromagnetic locators, GPS hardware, drone flying and mapping software. Applicants will locate and map underground Oil Gas facilities to include: electrical, gas, oil, water, and communication systems. Additionally, the applicant will fly the location with drones and digitize Oil and Gas facilities via GIS.

The ideal candidate has the ability to locate and map underground utilities, has a basic understanding of Oil and Gas facilities, and has a working knowledge of GIS and ESRI applications. All field equipment, vehicles, and PPE will be provided by the company. The individual will report directly to the Regional Operations Manager. Lots of growth potential as the company grows.

Minimum Professional Qualifications:

Previous utility line locating experience

Ability to work independently or as part of a crew

Ability to work safely and complete safety trainings as required

Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, tables, etc.

Preferred Professional Qualifications:

Understanding of ESRI products (ArcGIS, Survey123, Workforce, and Collector/Fieldmaps)

Understanding of the Oil and Gas Industry and associated regulatory requirements

Basic knowledge of Oil and Gas Facility layout design

UAS FAA part 107 license

Minimum Physical Qualifications

Walking for extended amounts of time and distance

Carrying a load of approximately 20 lbs. for long distances

Lifting material with a weight of up to 50 lbs.

Physically capable of performing underground locates and field mapping through uneven terrain

Working in extreme conditions such as hot or cold weather, wind and insects

Drive company vehicles in a safe and conscientious manner

Pass an Initial and Random Drug/Alcohol Tests

Possess a valid Drivers License

Able to work long hours when needed, with occasional out of town travel
