Both roles require financial expertise and often work within the same industry, but their core responsibilities differ: one is strategic, the other analytical.

What are some common challenges faced by Asset Allocators when managing diversified portfolios?

Asset Allocators often face the challenge of balancing risk and return while adhering to client objectives and market conditions. They must continuously monitor global economic trends, re-balance portfolios to respond to market fluctuations, and manage complex client expectations. Additionally, collaborating with research analysts, portfolio managers, and risk teams is essential to make informed decisions and adapt strategies as needed. Staying current with regulatory changes and financial innovations is also key to ensuring portfolios remain compliant and competitive.

What is an Asset Allocator?

An asset allocator is a financial professional or entity responsible for distributing investments among various asset classes, such as stocks, bonds, real estate, and cash, to optimize returns and manage risk according to a client’s goals and risk tolerance. Asset allocation is a key component of investment strategy because it helps balance risk and return over time.

Job description

Location: New York City (Hybrid Work Model)
DiligenceVault is an AI-powered due diligence and decision-intelligence software for investors, allocators, and asset managers. Our platform transforms how complex diligence is executed - using AI, automation, and workflow intelligence to dramatically reduce friction, time, and risk. We’re trusted by leading allocators, asset managers, consultants, and wealth investors, and have built the industry’s largest network of over 20,000 firms.
The Role
We’re looking for a senior, hands-on business development leader to own and scale revenue growth through strategic partnerships, enterprise sales motion design, and market expansion. This is a high-impact role reporting directly to executive leadership, with clear influence over company strategy, positioning, and long-term growth.
This role is ideal for someone who has closed complex B2B deals, understands buy-side financial services or diligence-driven workflows, and thrives at the intersection of AI, SaaS, and enterprise value creation.
What You’ll Do
  • Own and scale business development and strategic partnerships across asset and wealth management ecosystem
  • Build and execute the enterprise and mid-market go-to-market strategy in collaboration with Sales, Product, and Marketing
  • Identify, structure, and help close high-value commercial partnerships (platform partnerships, data partnerships, channel relationships)
  • Lead complex, multi-stakeholder deal cycles - from first conversation to contract execution
  • Develop repeatable BD playbooks, pricing frameworks, and partnership models
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and executive forums
  • Mentor and help scale a high-performing BD / partnerships team over time

What We’re Looking For
  • 7+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or enterprise sales
  • Strong background in B2B SaaS, with experience selling into financial services, institutional and wealth investing, or professional services
  • Proven track record of closing large, complex deals with long sales cycles
  • Deep comfort engaging with C-suite, partners, and investment professionals
  • Strong strategic thinking paired with hands-on execution and deep platform and solutions knowledge
  • High curiosity and fluency around AI, automation, and modern data platforms
  • NYC-based (or willing to be), with comfort working in a continuously innovating and product focused environment
  • Open to travelling up to 20% time

Nice to Have
  • Experience in diligence, data platforms, workflow automation, or investment technology
  • Prior experience as an allocator or in investor relations role is a strong plus
  • Existing relationships across allocators, PE, VC, asset management, or consulting ecosystems
  • Prior experience helping scale a company from growth stage

Why Join Us
  • Work on a category-defining diligence platform solving real, high-stakes problems across Manager Research, ODD, ESG, Legal, Tax and Compliance Oversight as well as RFP/DDQ automation, distribution support and investor reporting
  • Direct influence on company strategy and long-term trajectory
  • Smart, low-ego team with deep domain expertise
  • Based in NYC, with flexibility and trust built into the culture
  • Salary Ranges : $135,000 to $200,000
  • Performance based - incentives & ESOPs
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage via JustWorks/One Medical
  • 401(k) plan
  • Generous PTO plus sick leave and paid holidays
  • Employee donation matching
  • Rewards and recognition Program
