Primary Purpose:
To ensure the integrity of the assessment procedures of the NSU MD and HPD Shared Teaching Program by monitoring in-person and online examinations.
Job Category: Non-Exempt

Essential Job Functions:
1. Observe the examinees to ensure that no one is using written materials or electronic devices and examinees are not communicating with one another in any way.
2. Escort examinees one at a time on unscheduled breaks.
3. Verify examinees are in a secure testing environment by requesting a 360 view of the room using their laptop or other desktop camera when proctoring online examinations.
4. Ensure understanding of testing instructions provided by the course director, chief proctor, or individual(s) responsible for exam administration.
5. Participate in any required exam administration training provided by the course director, chief proctor, or individual(s) responsible for exam administration.
6. Ensure timely communication with examinees if you identify irregular or concerning behavior (any behavior that falls outside of the expectations for the examination), such as talking, using unapproved electronic devices, inappropriate or unexpected use of electronic devices, etc.
Job Requirements: 1. Ability to communicate effectively with others.
2. Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and supervisory staff at all levels.
3. May be exposed to short, intermittent, and/or prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing in performance of job duties.
4. May be required to accomplish job duties using various types of equipment/supplies, to include but not limited to pens, pencils and computer keyboards.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 1. Basic knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), online meeting platforms (Zoom, Canvas, Teams, etc), automated office equipment, and office practices and procedures (e.g., filing, answering telephones, receptionist duties, and supply/equipment ordering).
2. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
3. Data entry skills.
4. Excellent customer service and communication skills.
5. Proactive, punctual and reliable.
6. Proctors should be mature, responsible, and respectfully assertive. No one should proctor who is a potential examinee, a relative of an examinee, or involved in or planning to be involved in examination review courses, publications, or similar programs for which a fee is charged.
