JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for prioritizing, organizing, assembling, packing, moving, staging, and processing material within the packing department with regard to efficiency, quality, and safety.

ESSENTIALS DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Prioritization

1. Prioritizes customer orders by the following:

a. Lead or Supervisor delegation

b. Due date

c. Product availability

B. Organization

1. Organizes workload

a. Checks for accuracy: quantity, color, size, job paperwork, and accessories

b. Determines proper assembly requirements: correct parts have been issued, correct sizes, item

compatibility, and appropriate quality of items.

c. Refers to Stylmark bulletins and / or diagrams for instructions.

d. Determines and audits inventory status of items in assembly area workstations

C. Assembly

1. Correctly assembles all items according to job paperwork and assembly instructions.

a. Locates material from department and / or crib

b. Ability to issue and close job in system

c. Assembles product according to Stymark guidelines

2. Stages and informs other stations of assembly completion

a. Stages completed assemblies for appropriate station to package for final shipment

b. Informs packing workstations of assembly availability

D. Packaging

1. Packs material for final shipment

a. Lifts material from cart or tree location to work station

b. Fills out appropriate paperwork associated with shipping order

c. Turns in paperwork for further processing

E. Other Duties

1. Restocks assembly and / or short pack workstations

2. Loading and unloading trucks

3. Material movement

a. Moving carts

4. Cleaning and organizing of assembly workstations

5. Completes tasks delegated by supervisor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Previous assembly experience helpful.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to exchange ideas and convey information to employees accurately. Ability to give and receive detailed information through verbal communication.

Operate foot pedal and hand operated assembly machinery.

Extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Required of entire work shift; perform all tasks while standing or moving about on foot.

Bending the body down, resting on one or both knees to retrieve or place packed or unpacked boxes.

Push cart of up to 150 pounds across packing/shipping area; push packed box through binder.

Pull 6' lengths of rolled wrapping paper.

Carrying, pushing, pulling, raising and lowering of objects, of up to 30 pounds, up to 50 feet.

Carrying boxed and unboxed extrusions up to 6' in length a distance of 4' to 25'. Periodic carrying boxed and unboxed 12' lengths of curved extrusions.

Picking, pinching, pulling, folding, stapling, handling, and manipulating small and large objects primarily with fingers and hands for majority of workday. Repetitive actions in wrists and hands.

Position requires the use of near, mid-range and far vision with clarity of vision at 20 feet or more and 20 inches or less. The ability to judge distance and space relationships and see objects where and as they are. The ability to identify and distinguish colors. The ability to observe up and down and to the right and left.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in a warehouse environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
