Bard Manufacturing Company, Inc., a leader in the HVAC industry, has an opening for an experienced Production Supervisor at our facility in Madison, Ga.

For over 100 years, Bard Manufacturing Company has been a family owned and operated company, leading the HVAC industry in light commercial, educational, and telecommunications markets. With production facilities in Ohio, Georgia and Mexico, we service our customers both nationwide and internationally by designing and manufacturing cutting-edge engineered products.

Scope and Responsibilities:

The Production Supervisor supervises hourly production employees in the various departments throughout the manufacturing facility. The key objectives of this position are to meet production schedules by achieving high levels of quality, safety, and productivity.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of hourly workers.

  • Observes operations and ensures worker compliance with prescribed methods and procedures.

  • Administers progressive discipline when necessary. Documents potential situations/discussions that could lead to disciplinary action of workers.

  • Administers and upholds the integrity of the collective bargaining agreement.

  • Manages department to meet customer's expectations for product quality and delivery.

  • Maintains 95% Inventory Record Accuracy.

  • Completes necessary paperwork in timely manner.

  • Maintains a high and continually improving level of quality.

  • Controls absenteeism and tardiness.

  • Trains and coaches' subordinates.

  • Conducts on-the-job training for newly assigned workers.

  • Conducts weekly informative meetings and documents minutes.

  • Maintains good housekeeping.

  • Abides by and ensures that all safety standards are met, and rules are followed.

  • Provides a safe working environment for employees.

  • Controls and monitors costs - realizes a continual improvement in productivity.

  • Looks for continual improvement opportunities in all aspects in their department.

  • Ensures preventative maintenance programs are followed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


The successful candidate will possess the following skills/abilities:

High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree in technical, engineering or related field is preferred.

  • 3-5 years related supervisory experience as Production Supervisor or similar role.
  • Familiarity with various and particular functional areas such as fabrication, welding, assembly, shipping, etc.

  • Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

  • Basic Computer Skills - Word, Excel, AS400

  • Ability to read blueprints

  • Lean Manufacturing/Continuous improvement experience is preferred

The candidate must also be familiar with the use of:
