Job description

Vertiv is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations supporting the Switchgear product line at our Anderson, SC facility. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing daily production activities to consistently meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) objectives.
The Production Manager will lead and develop supervisors and production teams while driving operational excellence, workforce capability, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead production operations across assigned assembly areas to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
  • Plan and schedule production activities while ensuring effective daily execution across multiple assembly lines.
  • Establish and maintain visual KPI reporting to drive accountability and high performance.
  • Evaluate labor requirements and workforce capacity to support production demand.
  • Ensure effective utilization of labor, materials, equipment, and floor space.
  • Partner cross-functional with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and other support functions.
  • Ensure quality systems are followed and effective to maintain product integrity.
  • Own accurate costing for assigned work centers and identify cost improvement opportunities.
  • Recommend equipment, tooling, layout, and process improvements.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained in safe operating conditions and address unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, organization, and safety compliance.
  • Identify training needs and ensure appropriate training plans are implemented.
  • Lead departmental, tier, and shift meetings to ensure alignment and execution.
  • Develop, coach, and performance-manage supervisors and direct reports.
  • Monitor production performance, adjust schedules, and minimize downtime.
  • Support and enforce Vertiv policies, procedures, and operational goals.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of production or manufacturing management experience in an assembly-based environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication (oral and written), and coaching skills.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to lead, develop, and engage a diverse workforce.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards and Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma methodologies.
  • 5+ years of experience in production management, scheduling, and assembly operations.
  • Proven success driving continuous improvement initiatives.
