Role Purpose Statement
SKYCHEFS is seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Airline Catering Assembly Supervisor to lead a team in a fast-paced airline catering production environment. This role is responsible for overseeing meal assembly operations, ensuring flights are catered accurately and on time while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, employee safety, quality, and productivity.
The successful candidate will excel at leading frontline teams, managing production schedules, and ensuring compliance with airline customer specifications, HACCP requirements, and regulatory standards. This individual must be comfortable working in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment where operational excellence directly impacts customer satisfaction and airline performance.
Work Type- ONSITE
Work Location- Near Miami International Airport
Shifts: Must be able to work flexible shifts.
Main Accountabilities
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Oversee airline catering assembly operations to ensure flights are catered accurately and on time.
  • Schedule and manage staffing to meet productivity, labor, and overtime goals.
  • Lead daily team meetings and communicate production priorities and safety expectations.
  • Monitor meal assembly, packing, and cart staging to ensure quality and compliance with airline specifications.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety, sanitation, HACCP, FDA, USDA, GMP, OSHA, and company standards.
  • Track performance metrics and implement corrective actions to address operational issues.
  • Maintain production records, conduct routine audits, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Transportation, Culinary, and Quality teams to support efficient service delivery.
  • Investigate and resolve quality, safety, and customer service concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Leadership Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop assembly associates and team leads.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Conduct training, performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitor key performance indicators, including on-time flight performance, meal accuracy, productivity, food safety, and employee safety.
  • Support company initiatives related to food safety, quality, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of supervisory experience in:
    • Airline catering
    • Food manufacturing
    • Food production
    • Hospitality operations
    • High-volume manufacturing environments
  • Experience leading hourly, frontline production employees.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Airline catering experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a unionized workforce environment preferred.
  • Experience with HACCP, GMP, FDA, USDA, and OSHA requirements.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience preferred.
