Job Title: Assembly Technician
Job Description
This role focuses on assembling and testing electronic components and sub-assemblies in a climate-controlled production environment. The Assembly Technician uses hand and power tools to build and wire electronic assemblies according to detailed drawings and specifications, ensuring accuracy, quality, and reliability in every product.
Responsibilities
- Assemble electronic components and sub-assemblies according to detailed specifications and production requirements.
- Route and install wiring, cables, and harnesses to exact specifications, ensuring neat, accurate, and secure connections.
- Use hand and power tools, including screwdrivers, drills, and crimpers, to perform assembly and wiring tasks safely and efficiently.
- Crimp wires by hand or using machines, verifying proper connections and maintaining consistent quality standards.
- Build circuit boards and accurately position or align components to facilitate proper wiring, assembly, and functionality.
- Interpret and follow drawings, diagrams, and related documentation to complete assemblies correctly and on time.
- Work on an assembly line or bench assembly setup to meet production goals while maintaining high quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and support continuous improvement.
- Identify and troubleshoot basic assembly or wiring problems, applying problem-solving skills to ensure reliable finished products.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when using tools and equipment in the production environment.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience with assembly of electronic components and sub-assemblies.
- Proficiency using hand tools such as screwdrivers, crimpers, and related assembly tools.
- Ability to use power tools, including drills and other equipment commonly used in production and assembly lines.
- Strong wiring skills, including routing, installing, and securing cables and harnesses.
- Experience working with electronics and circuit board assembly.
- Ability to interpret and work from drawings, diagrams, and related technical documents.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and support production goals.
- Solid problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve basic assembly and wiring issues.
- Attention to detail and accuracy when positioning components and completing assemblies.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working on assembly lines or bench assembly in a production environment.
- Experience in cable harness assembly and routing.
- Comfort working with both hand-operated and machine-operated crimping tools.
- Ability to follow structured production processes while maintaining quality and efficiency.

Work Environment
This position is based in a climate-controlled facility focused on bench assembly and production line work. The standard schedule is 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Fridays. The organization follows a 9/80 schedule, which currently provides limited flexibility, with every other week aligned to this schedule. Increased overtime is expected to be available from October through December, including some potential Saturday morning hours. Work is performed at assembly benches and on production lines using common hand and power tools in a clean, organized environment.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
