Job description

Summary of Responsibilities

This is the basic (entry-level) production position within the Production Department. The incumbent is required to attend to all assigned duties and responsibilities and maintain accuracy standards in production in accordance with stated requirements and IATF16949 standards. Perform other duties as assigned.

Reporting Relationships

The Production Technician reports directly to and is accountable to the Shift Leader, as well as the Cell Leader.

Responsibility and Duties

  • Locate and use applicable written information in Process Books at workstations to perform job
  • Molding and Assembly of products as required (foaming, insert molding, etc.)
  • Operate grinders to recycle plastic and mix materials per instructions
  • Ability to operate up to five automatic machines (simultaneously)
  • Ability to work on an automated assembly line using powered hand tools and standing in one place for up to 12 hours during overtime shifts
  • Perform timely visual quality audits of molded product with 100% accuracy
  • Sort multi-shaped parts by hand
  • Conduct utility, packaging, and staging as required
  • Use first piece sample to verify correct labels are being used and the packaging declaration to prepare boxes for packaging and shipping
  • Log in rejects and other information in computerized production system
  • Conduct and maintain lot traceability procedures
  • Perform paperwork as required (check sheets, production papers, etc.)
  • Meet safety training requirements; follow established safety practices and policies
  • Maintain production rate efficiencies of 100% percent or better
  • Maintain proficiency and certification on all items contained within this task and duty description
  • Be able to work overtime or adjusted schedule (any shift) as required with little or no notice
  • Maintain 5S housekeeping/organization standards
  • Adhere to Adkev, Inc. policies, procedures, and instructions
  • Adhere to Adkev, Inc.?s attendance policy
  • Other duties as required

Measurements of Performance

The Production Technician will be considered as performing in a satisfactory manner when the following are accomplished:

  • When the above responsibilities and duties are accomplished in a timely and effective manner
  • The output of the position is accomplished on time in accordance of efficient scheduling and sufficient resources
  • Compliance with all safety and regulatory issues are met with no safety violations
  • Maintain personal certifications to include professional certifications
  • TS16949 standards, process, or duties assigned are performed as defined within Adkev, Inc.?s IATF16949 program parameters
  • Will cross train and maintain certification in other duties as directed by Shift Leader/Cell Leader and Plant Manager
