1.0 OVERVIEW
Join our dynamic manufacturing team as an Assembly Technician - II, where you'll play a vital role in constructing high-quality products within a fast-paced factory environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your mechanical skills, work with advanced tools, and contribute to the production process that drives our success. As an integral part of our assembly line, you'll ensure that each component is assembled accurately and efficiently, supporting our commitment to excellence and innovation.
AEROSPACE EXPERIENCE IS HIGHLY PREFERRED, IPC EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED- PREVIOUS ASSEMBLY EXPERIENCE AS IT APPLIES TO OUR JOB SKILLS.
THIS EXPERIENCE IS NOT REFLECTED IN THE BODY OF YOUR RESUME, YOU WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED- PLEASE INCLUDE DETAILS OF WHEN AND HOW YOU USED THESE SKILLS.
WE WILL BE HIRING AT LEAST 10 A MONTH, FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR.
2.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Verify traveler documentation for accuracy (part numbers, revs, quantities, etc.)
- Check materials provided for physical damage or defects.
- Be familiar with common soldering styles including cup, lap, and splice soldering.
- Can prepare cable (cut, de-jacket, strip)
- Hand crimping 8 AWG to 28 AWG using stamped and machine contacts.
- Assembles harnesses using a board.
- Can consistently build assemblies with critical dimensions within tolerance.
- Potting including boot to a connector, boots, and breakouts.
- Must be able to distinguish between leaded and lead-free solder.
- Basic solder (tinning and use of regular and lead-free solder)
- Monitor that soldered items follow IPC620 workmanship standards.
- Sign work order traveler after process is performed.
- Ensure that all materials are properly identified and packaged safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Maintain a safe working environment and report any potential hazards.
- Be punctual in attendance and general work schedule breaks and lunch.
- Additional duties may be assigned if required.
3.0 COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work with hand tools, inspection and measuring equipment without limitations.
- Ability to read assembly drawings and electrical schematics.
- Operate stripping machines, crimping machines, as well as other manual tools daily.
- Ability to follow written or verbal instructions as noted on work orders.
- Good vision and hearing
- Basic understanding of IPC 620 standards
- Basic experience soldering
- Fully abide by ISC policies and procedures
4.0 EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a similar role or manufacturing environment.
- Work in contract manufacture setting.
5.0 PHYSICAL DEMAND AND SAFETY
- Be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds unassisted. Beyond this will require the buddy system or lifting device.
- Ability to stay on feet for prolonged periods of time and mobility to get around facility without limitations.
- Ability to sit and work at a station for prolonged periods of time without limitation.
- Achieve daily tasks which require repetitive use of hands and other body parts.
- Learn and follow all safety requirements. Failure to do so will result in disciplinary action.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Report to work; healthy and not affected by alcohol, drugs, or other harmful influences.
- Actively participate in safety improvement activities.
- Report any unsafe practices by coworkers or contractors.
- Immediately report all injuries and other safety incidents.
