Job description

SUMMARY

Perform a variety of factory/manufacturing duties related to assembly (packaging, assembling, manufacturing), receiving shipments, and shipping (pulling, packaging, processing and shipping orders). Accurate and timely processing of appropriate paperwork throughout the lifecycle of the product.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

Assembly

  • Work with the Plant Operations Manager and Inventory Control Manager to determine production needs.
  • Using SAP, create/release planned orders.
  • Work with Materials Management to gather correct components.
  • Verify correct components compared to planned orders.
  • Assemble products per specifications or training completely and in a timely manner.
  • Arrange for Materials Management to place finished goods into inventory.
  • Stock finished product back flush using SAP.

Receiving

  • Receiving incoming shipments from trucks.
  • Verify order contents to the packing slips.
  • Complete UPS log of all packages noting the condition upon delivery.
  • Process returned merchandise using the RA form.

Shipping

  • Gather product per order form and pass along to packing area.
  • Double check orders pulled from other associates and sign off on order form.
  • Place products into boxes and place packing slips on boxes.
  • Process orders through UPS/FedEx computer to place in area to await shipment.
  • Mark boxes with appropriate/special instructions, i.e. hazardous, heavy, etc.
  • Contact freight companies to arrange shipments on larger orders.
  • Process paperwork for freight companies.
  • Pack pallet orders using the guidelines in the cGMP for height of product, etc.

M-Wrap

  • Load cores onto roll bars.
  • Operate wrap machine to create individual rolls by coring and cutting wrap.
  • Inspect rolls for product defects.
  • Package rolls into cases or prepare for retail packaging.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school degree or General Education Diploma or experience enough to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Previous factory, assembly, shipping/receiving, or other applicable experience.
  • Ability to comply with the Mueller Sports Medicine Quality System and current regulatory requirements.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies.
  • Make sound decisions based on analysis, discussion, experience and judgment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Develop and maintain interpersonal relationships.
  • Active engagement and collaboration with team members.
  • Beginner use of Microsoft products, including Word, Outlook and Excel, and related industry applications.
  • Safe operation of a pallet jack.
  • Safe operation of various machinery.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Forklift certification and/or experience.

Responsible to appropriately protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the companys systems and data as well as customer data.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills; the ability to stand or sit, walk, bend or stoop, push, pull and manipulate (lift, carry, move) weights of up to 20 pounds regularly, up to 40 pounds frequently, and up to 70 pounds occasionally. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate office equipment and read.
