Job description

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Process Development Associate for an Onsite position with a Global Biotechnology Company located in West Greenwich, RI. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity.
This is an entry-level role ideal for a self-motivated individual willing to work hard and learn. The position supports the execution of cell culture processes from aseptic vial thaw and cell culture flask passaging through large-scale bioreactors and downstream purification. This role requires the ability to work on-site with a flexible shift of 7:30 am - 4:00 pm and frequent weekend work (1-3 times monthly).
Responsibilities:
  • Support the execution of cell culture processes, including aseptic vial thaw, cell culture flask passaging, and operation of benchtop wave bioreactors and 200L/500L single-use bioreactors
  • Support large-scale harvest operations through downstream purification, including chromatography, filtration, and Ultra-Filtration/Diafiltration (UF/DF)
  • Perform routine tasks such as in-process sampling, operation of laboratory analyzers, and management of samples
  • Conduct scientific data collection via electronic laboratory notebooks
  • Compound media/buffer solutions and perform Clean-In-Place (CIP) and Steam-In-Place (SIP) procedures
  • Manage equipment assembly/disassembly, routine maintenance of benchtop analyzers, and general lab organization and cleaning
  • Utilize scientific principles in the execution of experiments and analysis of experimental data
  • Document data and process information in accordance with good documentation practices

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science OR
  • Associate's degree and 1 year of experience in a laboratory or manufacturing setting OR
  • 2+ years of experience in a laboratory or manufacturing setting
  • Ability to work weekends is required

Desired skills:
  • Prior hands-on experience in pilot- or large-scale cell culture or downstream purification process development or manufacturing
  • Experience with automated computer-controlled biopharmaceutical equipment
  • Knowledge of process data compilation and analysis
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Pay range: up to $29.58 per hour
