The Assembler plays a key role on a fast-paced assembly line, proficiently working at every station to build assemblies and sub-assemblies for heavy-duty vehicles and specialized equipment. This role focuses on accurate assembly, careful inspection, and the ability to identify and correct process discrepancies that impact equipment performance or product quality. You will work in a collaborative production environment where teamwork, safety, and quality craftsmanship are consistently valued.

Responsibilities

  • Work proficiently at multiple stations on the assigned assembly line, maintaining proper sequence and confirming each step is completed successfully before the unit moves to the next station.
  • Read and follow work instructions, drawings, work orders, parts lists, and other documentation to assemble components accurately and efficiently.
  • Assemble various components, including parts, wires, hoses, hydraulics, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems, using safe and proper tools and techniques.
  • Install accessories such as decals, mud flaps, cameras, lights, and other add-on components according to specifications.
  • Utilize special equipment including torque tools, DC tools, brake bleeders, AC chargers, cab testers, jib cranes, and quality testing equipment as required.
  • Use hand and power tools, including torque wrenches and overhead cranes, to complete assembly tasks safely and correctly.
  • Perform visual inspections and quality checks on assembled units to identify defects, verify compliance with specifications, and ensure overall product quality.
  • Trace identified issues to their root cause and collaborate with team members to resolve problems and prevent recurrence.
  • Measure and verify parts using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools to ensure accurate fit and alignment.
  • Apply principles of mechanical assembly and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to maintain proper alignment and function of components.
  • Follow established production processes, safety procedures, and quality assurance standards throughout all assembly activities.
  • Support continuous improvement by providing feedback on work instructions, tooling, and processes, and assist with training or cross-training team members when needed.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience OR a High School Diploma/GED.
  • Experience using basic hand and power tools in a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 35 pounds as a single-person lift; heavier items require team lift or mechanical assistance.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16 inch.
  • Capability to read and interpret work instructions, drawings, work orders, and parts lists.
  • Comfort working with mechanical assembly tasks, including the use of hand and power tools.
  • Attention to detail with strong inspection skills to identify defects and verify quality.
  • Ability to work in sequence on an assembly line and confirm completion of each process step.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain forklift and/or overhead crane certification if required.
  • Ability to obtain EPA 608 and A2L certifications (PC Air only) as needed for the role.
  • Physical ability to perform frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and repetitive motion in a manufacturing environment.
  • Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for safe operation of equipment and effective communication on the production floor.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Manufacturing assembly experience, particularly in a production or heavy-duty vehicle environment.
  • Experience training or cross-training team members on assembly processes and equipment.
  • Battery electric vehicle assembly experience, including work on electric dump trucks or similar platforms.
  • Experience with frame-up assembly or complex chassis assembly for heavy-duty or commercial vehicles.
  • Experience in HVAC, hydraulic, or electrical assembly, including installation and troubleshooting.
  • HVAC/Brazing certification or willingness to complete company-provided HVAC/Brazing training (PC Air).
  • Familiarity with quality control and quality assurance practices, including visual inspection, quality checks, and use of measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and CMM (coordinate measuring machines).
  • Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles as they apply to assembly and alignment.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Syteline, ManMan, or similar platforms for production and inventory tracking.
  • Comfort working with mechanical, electrical, and HVAC components in an integrated assembly environment.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills in a collaborative production setting.

Why Work Here?

You join a rapidly expanding, modern facility that focuses on innovative electric heavy-duty vehicles in a clean, climate-controlled environment. Lifting requirements include safely handling up to 35 pounds alone, with team lifts or mechanical assistance used for heavier items.
