Our facility in Billerica, Massachusetts, is located in the metropolitan Boston area and specializes in the design and manufacturing of advanced photonics products based on MEMS and other micro-scale optical devices. Our unique technology enables the highest system performance in the most compact and cost-effective formats in a variety of applications.
We are presently seeking a High Voltage Power - Assembly Technician that will be responsible for assembling and repairing High Voltage Power Supplies in a production environment. This position is key to the performance of our High Voltage Power Product Line. Our Power Supplies are used in many applications. Typical applications are detection and screening of luggage and cargo, aesthetic lasers, curing of materials, 3-D printing, and many other industrial and medical applications.
Main responsibilities:
  • Performs electro-mechanical operations on printed circuit boards, subassemblies, and complete assembly of high voltage power supplies.
  • Performs various rework/repair operations on production systems as well as service units.
  • Performs other duties as required to support manufacturing objectives.
  • Must have the ability to clearly read and interpret all assembly prints, process specifications and other work instructions.
  • Soldering, wire cutting, stripping, and crimping.
  • Utilization of various hand tools and semi-automatic equipment required to perform daily tasks.
  • Must have strong organizational skills, and basic computer skills.
  • Meet throughput requirements on a daily basis, depending on product complexity.
  • Must adhere to gowning/PPE requirements in a controlled environment which would include wearing finger cots, gloves, ESD smocks, safety shoes, and safety glasses.

Requirements:
  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2- 5 years electromechanical assembly experience or equivalent.
  • Solder certified to IPC A-610 and/or J-STD-001.
  • Ability to clearly read and interpret all work instructions.
  • Strong organizational skills, computer skills, and experience with Windows/MS Office.
  • Allocates time and resources efficiently, focusing on ever-shifting priorities, continually seeks way to improve individual/team efficiency through multitasking.
  • Ability to sit or stand (depending on task) and work for at least 8 hours a day
  • Must be able to lift up to up to 25 lbs. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Must also be able to walk the aisles of the productions floor as well as have the ability to walk to and from the general HVP Tier Board Area as well as the final inspection, assembly, and stock room areas to transport parts and assemblies.
  • Ability to adhere to various gowning requirements which will include wearing, lab jacket, safety shoes, safety glasses and following all COVID prevention protocol.
  • Familiarity with encapsulation, media blasting, oil processing and filling, and specialized soldering techniques specific to high voltage applications is a plus.
  • Ability to work overtime if necessary.

Compensation
  • Pay Range: $26 - $30 per hour, depending on experience.
