Job description

Job Title: Assembler – Commercial HVAC Modifications

Job Description

This role is ideal for a skilled and reliable Assembler who enjoys hands-on work with mechanical and electrical components. You will modify commercial HVAC units to meet detailed customer specifications, working from engineering drawings and blueprints to install, assemble, and integrate various components. The position is based in Addison, IL and involves both mechanical and electrical assembly, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure each unit meets strict quality, safety, and performance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Modify commercial HVAC units based on detailed customer specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Install and assemble components such as raw valves, copper piping, electrical controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), fans and blowers, and wiring panels.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical assembly work on incoming units, primarily received from Trane.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions accurately to complete assigned tasks.
  • Ensure all modifications meet established quality, safety, and performance standards.
  • Test assembled units for proper functionality and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues as needed.
  • Use tape measures, hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment safely and effectively.
  • Operate production and assembly line machinery as required for the job.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and engineering staff to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Perform general production, mechanical assembly, and machine operating tasks as needed.
  • Follow all workplace safety guidelines and report any hazards or equipment issues promptly.

Pay and Benefits
