Job description

Overview

Ichor Systems has an immediate opening for an QC Inspector, located in Austin Texas for our 3rd Shift (Weekends).

Performs inspections, checks testing and sampling procedures for product manufacturing processes. Carries out packaging line, manufacturing inspections and sampling and testing of incoming components and raw materials to ensure that company standards are met. Monitors critical equipment and instrumentation. May draft procedures and assist with validating or troubleshooting testing methods, including assays. May apply approval or rejection labels to bulk raw materials once analytical data is evaluated.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities – Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform detailed product inspection and/or audits on more complex products
  • May make process recommendations and suggest improvements in inspection procedures
  • Under little or no supervision, performs product inspection and/or audits of quality control programs
  • Perform packaging line and manufacturing inspections, and sampling and testing of incoming components and raw materials
  • Ensure in-process and finished products meet company standards
  • May apply approval or rejection labels to bulk raw materials once analytical data is evaluated
  • May assess draft and final label copy, utilizing knowledge of labeling regulations
  • Minimize down time by reducing production rework and recalls
  • Work independently with minimal supervision

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret prints, drawings and specs
  • Ability to check for workmanship, dimensional specs, tolerance and overall function of the product
  • May determine method procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance to other team members
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment to resolve problems that may occur in the process or final inspection operation
  • Solid understanding of all relevant inspection techniques
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Desired Education, Certifications and Experience

  • 3-5+ years production or related work experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Vocational or technical training
