The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for the Technical Application Specialist, Field/Remote Support role within our Diagnostics division, based in the United States, and this is a field-based remote role.
Abbott Diagnostics helps laboratories, healthcare professionals, and patients make informed decisions through a broad portfolio of innovative diagnostic solutions that improve health outcomes worldwide.
As the Application Specialist- field-based remote role, you'll have the chance to support Abbott Toxicology customers through assay and instrument implementation, troubleshooting, and training. You'll serve as a technical expert helping customers maximize the value of Abbott's diagnostic solutions.
What You'll Work On
  • Provide technical support for Abbott Toxicology assays, reagents, and instrumentation through remote and on-site customer interactions.
  • Lead assay and instrument implementations, validation activities, and customer training programs.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, perform root cause investigations, and drive timely resolution of customer complaints.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Quality, and Technical Support teams to improve customer experience and business growth.
  • Support customer demonstrations and serve as a subject matter expert on Abbott Toxicology products.
  • Investigate escalated product and performance issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain complaint and investigation records in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Travel up to 75% to customer laboratories and business sites across the U.S.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting immunoassays, automated liquid handling systems, or related diagnostic technologies.
  • Experience in forensic toxicology, clinical toxicology, or a related laboratory environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%

Preferred Qualifications
  • Field applications, technical support, or laboratory consulting experience.
  • Knowledge of toxicology testing workflows and immunoassay technologies.
  • Experience supporting HEIA, SEFRIA, ELISA, or comparable assay platforms.
  • Experience with laboratory validations, complaint investigations, and root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of regulated laboratory and quality system environments.
