Position Description
PCM Services is a commercial contractor based in Beltsville, MD, performing work throughout the DC/Baltimore metro area. We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Equipment Operator to support our asphalt paving operations.
This role is critical to the success of our paving projects and requires hands-on experience in asphalt construction. The ideal candidate must be experienced in asphalt paving environments, including lute work, asphalt labor, and operating heavy equipment such as rollers, pavers, or milling machines.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Equipment Operator / Asphalt Laborer to join our paving crew. The ideal candidate must have hands-on construction experience in asphalt work and be skilled in operating heavy equipment used in paving operations.
Responsibilities
  • Operate paving and construction equipment safely and efficiently
  • Operate equipment such as rollers, pavers, and bobcats/skid steers
  • Assist with milling operations (experience preferred)
  • Perform lute work to spread, level, and smooth asphalt
  • Shovel and rake asphalt during paving operations
  • Support paving crews during asphalt placement and finishing
  • Follow project specifications, grades, and safety standards
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance issues
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
  • Assist crew members with additional field duties as needed
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures

Position Requirements
Requirements
  • Minimum 1+ years of asphalt construction experience
  • Proven experience operating at least one of the following equipment:
    • Rollers
    • Pavers
    • Milling machines
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Strong understanding of job site safety practices
  • Reliable transportation to and from job sites
  • Ability to perform physical labor and lift heavy materials

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on paving crews
  • Multi-equipment experience (roller, paver, milling machine)
