Job description

Asphalt Paving Foreman – Highway/DOT – Metro Atlanta, GA

Lead asphalt paving operations on active DOT and heavy civil projects. Direct paving crews, coordinate equipment and haul logistics, and drive daily production while ensuring safe, high-quality asphalt placement that meets strict mix, compaction, grade, and smoothness specifications.

What You'll Do

  • Direct paving crews and manage daily field production, including crew assignments, workflow, and output targets
  • Lead asphalt laydown operations including base, binder, and surface courses on mainline highway and roadway projects
  • Coordinate paving trains, haul trucks, materials, and manpower to maintain continuous production and eliminate cold joints\
  • Monitor mix delivery, mat temperatures, laydown rates, lift thickness, compaction, and joint quality to ensure DOT compliance
  • Read and interpret plans, specifications, paving layouts, and cross slopes to execute work accurately in the field
  • Enforce jobsite safety standards, conduct safety meetings, and manage lane closures or night paving operations in real time
  • Coordinate closely with the Superintendent on daily schedules, sequencing, and production goals
  • Track daily production, material yields, and job progress to support accurate reporting and project execution

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of asphalt paving or heavy highway construction experience
  • Minimum 2+ years in an Asphalt Paving Foreman or field leadership role
  • Strong hands-on experience leading asphalt paving operations on roadway or highway projects
  • Deep knowledge of paving equipment including pavers, screeds, rollers, and related compaction systems
  • Ability to monitor yields, mat thickness, and quality control requirements without supervision
  • DOT experience required; Georgia DOT experience strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to manage crews, truck flow, and production pressure in real time
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and consistent field execution

Work Environment
