ROLE OVERVIEW:
This is a seasonal position, you can use your winters off to travel, hunt, fish or for other activities you enjoy while your benefits continue year round.
The Distributor Operator will be responsible for loading hauling and spraying bituminous emulsions and liquid A/C on various paving and construction projects. This role will be in charge of ensuring oil is heated to proper temperature and is circulated as well as identifying any potential safety hazards. When not operating, you may assist with paving operations including asphalt or base hauls while operating a tandem or tractor-trailer combination or water truck. This position will travel up to a 150-mile radius of Sioux City, IA.
Typical schedule is Monday - Friday 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Saturday as needed.
Starting wage is $23.05 and up depending on experience.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)
  1. Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
  2. Safely and properly perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning) on truck.\
  3. Safely and properly operates truck to spray oil or bituminous emulsions on road surfaces and ensure proper distribution.
  4. Safely load hot oil into tank truck for distribution and maintain the proper temperature of the material and start auxiliary pump.
  5. Cleans tac nozzles.
  6. Maintains proper information in truck cab pouch.
  7. Ensure MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
  8. Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)
As a successful Distributor Operator, you will have:
  1. A high school diploma or equivalent GED is required or 1 year of previous experience
  2. Class A Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement.
  3. Ability to hold and maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record.
  4. Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights and some Saturdays.
