Job description

Club Xcite is hiring qualified American Sign Language (ASL) / Sign Language Interpreters to support K–12 students in a school‑based setting. This is a full‑time, itinerant role supporting student access to classroom instruction, school activities, and assessments throughout the school day.

The interpreter will collaborate closely with teachers, service providers, and school staff to ensure effective communication and meaningful access to the educational environment. Must have 4.0 or higher on CA state assessment score (EIPA, ESSE, NAD/ACCI).

Compensation:
  • Local Pay: Up to $57 per hour (EIPA Score and Experience dependent).
  • Travel Pay: Up to $2,183 per week (for 37.5 hour work week)*.
  • *Includes untaxed housing and meals stipends for eligible travelers.

Essential Duties and Qualifications:
  • Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, and peers through ASL.
  • Support students’ access to classroom lessons, school activities, and assessments.
  • Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and administrators to enhance learning.
  • Travel between schools across the district as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Reliable and able to work independently in an itinerant role.
  • 3.0 or higher on CA state assessment score (EIPA, ESSE, NAD/ACCI).

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in K–12 educational interpreting.
  • Knowledge of IEPs and educational terminology.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
