{Compensation Including Tips} Position Summary:

We are looking for a friendly, efficient, and customer-focused Cashier/Host to join our team at a busy chain hot pot restaurant. This role combines guest-facing service with point-of-sale responsibilities. You will be the first and last point of contact for our guests — responsible for greeting them, managing waitlists, seating arrangements, and handling all payment transactions accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

Host Duties:

• Greet customers warmly and manage the flow of guests entering the restaurant

• Maintain and update waitlists, reservations, and table rotations using the restaurant’s seating system

• Communicate estimated wait times to guests and update them as needed

• Escort guests to tables and provide menus, explaining how the hot pot experience works if needed

• Handle customer inquiries, takeout orders, and calls professionally

• Ensure the front-of-house area, including the waiting area, remains clean and welcoming

• Support servers with basic guest needs or table resets when available

Cashier Duties:

• Operate the POS system to process guest payments accurately (dine-in and takeout)

• Handle multiple forms of payment: cash, card, mobile apps, and gift cards

• Issue receipts and ensure the correct change is given

• Answer questions regarding menu pricing, set packages, or promotions

• Handle split bills and custom orders with precision

• Resolve basic billing issues or escalate concerns to the manager when needed

• Balance the cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Experience in a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality environment is a plus

• Familiarity with Asian cuisine, especially hot pot, is highly preferred

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure

• Proficient in basic math and POS systems

• Bilingual (e.g., English and Mandarin) is a plus, but not required
