Job Summary:

The Service technician performs various maintenance and repairs on customerโ€™s vehicles according to his/her skill level, while maximizing productivity.
Job Duties:

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on customerโ€™s vehicles
  • Conduct thorough multi-point inspections on customersโ€™ vehicles to identify needed maintenance and repairs
  • Follow all required safety and hazardous materials procedures as required by dealership policies and applicable state laws and regulations
  • Use and maintain dealership-provided tools and equipment in proper operating condition
  • Document inspection findings and maintenance recommendations
  • Proactively communicate special findings to service advisor
  • Perform quality checks on work completed
  • Collaborate and share knowledge within department
  • Obtain and maintain Toyota technician certification and any ASEโ€™s and/or smog licenses as required for your skill level
  • Run every customer VIN in Dealer Daily Service Lane to check for open recalls and 2nd or 3rd time in repair attempts
  • Report any comebacks immediately to the shop foreman and service manager
  • Understand and follow Federal, State, local and manufacturer regulations, with regards to repair order documentation, warranty documentation and lemon law
  • Maintain current knowledge of Toyota vehicle maintenance requirements, operations, warranties, campaigns, recalls and special service bulletins
  • Report to management any situation or condition that jeopardizes the safety, welfare or integrity of the dealership, its personnel or customers
  • Communicate proactively with other associates to ensure a smooth, safe flow of work through the shop
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of automotive technology
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of diagnostic and repair equipment
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Deadline and detail-oriented
  • Effective communication skills

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Automotive repair: 2 years (Required)
  • ASE/Dealership Experience
  • Valid driverโ€™s license
