Asbestos Abatement TechnicianPaul Davis is seeking an experienced Asbestos Abatement Technician to perform asbestos, lead, mold, and hazardous-material remediation.
What does an Asbestos Abatement Technician with Paul Davis do?- Â Sets up regulated work areas, containments, critical barriers, and decontamination unitsÂ
- Â Installs and monitors negative-air machines and HEPA filtration equipmentÂ
- Â Safely removes asbestos-containing materials using approved work practicesÂ
- Â Removes drywall, joint compound, acoustic ceiling texture, flooring, mastics, insulation, duct components, and other regulated materialsÂ
- Â Properly bags, wraps, labels, stages, and loads asbestos-containing wasteÂ
- Â Performs HEPA vacuuming, wet wiping, encapsulation, and final cleaningÂ
- Â Uses and properly maintains respirators, PPE, tools, and abatement equipmentÂ
- Â Follows project work plans and all applicable AQMD, Cal/OSHA, EPA, DTSC, and company requirementsÂ
- Â Completes daily logs, equipment records, photographs, timecards, and other required job documentationÂ
- Â Problem-solves and helps the team find safe, effective solutionsÂ
- Â Improves the community by serving othersÂ
- Â Learns new skills involving environmental services, restoration, and constructionÂ

Required Experience and Certifications
- Â Minimum of three years of asbestos-abatement field experienceÂ
- Â Current Cal/OSHA-approved AHERA Asbestos Worker certificationÂ
- Â Current annual asbestos-worker refresher certificateÂ
- Â Current medical clearance authorizing respirator useÂ
- Â Current respirator fit-test documentationÂ
-  Valid California driver’s license with an acceptable driving recordÂ
- Â Working knowledge of asbestos containments, decontamination procedures, negative-air systems, respiratory protection, waste packaging, and final cleaningÂ
- Â Ability to provide copies of all required certifications and training documents before beginning workÂ

Physical Requirements- Â Ability to wear a half-face or full-face respirator for extended periodsÂ
- Â Ability to work while wearing protective clothing and required PPEÂ
- Â Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 poundsÂ
- Â Ability to bend, kneel, crawl, climb ladders, and work in confined or restricted spacesÂ
- Â Ability to work indoors and outdoors in heat, cold, dust, and wet conditionsÂ
- Â Ability to pass required medical evaluations and respirator fit testingÂ
