Asbestos Inspector / Asbestos Project Designer Metro Boston / New England Region

Hydro-Environmental Technologies, Inc. (HETI) is currently seeking a qualified Asbestos Inspector / Asbestos Project Designer to join our team in the Metro Boston / New England area. This is a field-based role supporting asbestos inspection, design, and monitoring activities across Massachusetts and surrounding states.
Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced asbestos professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience in asbestos inspection, abatement design, and project oversight. The ideal candidate will hold current certifications as an Asbestos Inspector and Asbestos Project Designer and be capable of supporting full lifecycle asbestos projects, including inspection, design, and monitoring. Industrial hygiene experience (mold, lead, IAQ) is a plus but secondary to asbestos expertise.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform asbestos inspections and surveys in accordance with federal and state regulations
Develop asbestos abatement design documents, specifications, and cost estimates
Conduct air monitoring and clearance sampling for asbestos abatement projects
Perform project monitoring and oversight of abatement contractors
Collect bulk samples and coordinate laboratory analysis
Prepare technical reports, abatement plans, and regulatory documentation
Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state regulations
Support additional environmental and industrial hygiene tasks as needed
Travel throughout the New England region as project needs arise
Required Certifications, Licensing, and Eligibility:

Must be currently licensed in Massachusetts at time of hire (required)
Must be authorized to work in the United States (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or valid work visa)
NIOSH 582 (Phase Contrast Microscopy)
Asbestos Inspector
Asbestos Management Planner
Asbestos Project Designer
Asbestos Project Monitor (strongly preferred / expected)
Preferred Qualifications:

5+ years of asbestos consulting experience (inspection, design, monitoring)
Additional New England state asbestos licenses (preferred)
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (or willingness to obtain)
Strong knowledge of federal and state asbestos regulations
Excellent technical writing and documentation skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple field assignments
Valid drivers license and ability to travel regionally
